July Community Cleanup. We’re meeting up at Baldwin and Manteo on Saturday, July, 5 at 8AM. Join us to help make a difference in our community!

Join us for our Annual 4th of July Bike Parade. We’re partnering with the wonderful Elizabeth River Trail to bring you a fun ride on part of the trail, with a Build Your Own Sundae party at ride’s end.

Starting at 10:30 AM at Fred Heutte Garden (1000 Botetourt Gardens) and ending at Stockley Gardens near Redgate, we’ll be riding down Mowbray Arch, part of the ERT.

You do not need to be a member of the GNL or live in Ghent to participate!

They’ll be prizes for the best decorated bikes, and swag for all participants. Come enjoy community, the spirit of volunteerism and having a great time outdoors!!!!

June’s Ghent Social is at Barrel 17. We’ll see you there for delicious food and libations. From 5-7. All are welcome, and you don’t need to be a GNL member to join us, we’d love to see you!

June Clean the Bay Day! In Collaboration with the Chesapeake Bay foundation and Keep Norfolk Beautiful we going to gather and clean up around the Hague.

We’re meeting at Warren Crescent and Mill Street and heading towards the Hague. KNB supplies all the gear.

The Longest table is coming to Ghent! Hosted by the Ghent Neighborhood League at the Fred Heutte Garden it’s a neighborhood collaboration designed to bring neighbors together

for friendship and community. As we get closer to the date we’ll be putting up RSVPs and asking for volunteers to help the event run smoothly. More coming soon, but be sure to SAVE THE DATE!!!

The Ghent Neighborhood League hosts a monthly community cleanup every first Saturday at 8 AM, bringing neighbors together to make a difference to our shared spaces. For an hour and a half, residents of all ages join forces to pick up litter and beautify our streets, parks, and public areas. It’s a great way to connect with others who care about keeping our neighborhood vibrant and welcoming. Whether you’re a long-time resident or new to the community, you’re invited to roll up your sleeves and contribute to this meaningful effort.

Thanks to support from Keep Norfolk Beautiful, participants are provided with all the necessary supplies, including grabbers, safety vests, and garbage bags. Just wear gloves and bring your enthusiasm and community spirit. Together, we can make a visible difference and inspire others to take pride in Ghent. Join us next monthly and help us keep our neighborhood clean, green, and thriving!

Join us for our annual Holiday Celebration that really celebrates YOU! We’re going to have a fire-pit with a s’mores bar, a boozy hot chocolate bar, yummy finger food and sweets, beer and wine and a lot of fun. The event is at the Fred Heutte Garden (our community partner and great friend to the GNL). We look forward to seeing you and encourage you to wear your holiday finest (ugly xmas sweater to gold lame evening gown, we’re all about sartorial celebrations too!) See you soon!!!

Join us for our popular monthly community clean up. Keep Norfolk Beautiful supplies fabulous grabbers and vests and we go to town on trash in Ghent. This month we’re meeting up at Olney and Colonial and really want to take care of the median down Olney, which looks pretty sad. If you’ve got ‘em bring clippers, a lot of the trees need pruning at the base. Then you can wander as you like filling your bag with detritus.
