Save the Bay Day Community Cleanup!

On Saturday, May 2nd, the Ghent Neighborhood League is proud to join forces with Keep Norfolk Beautiful for Save the Bay Day, a community-wide effort to protect and preserve the waterways that define life in Norfolk. We’ll gather at the corner of Olney and Mowbray Arch at 8:00 am, right in the heart of Ghent, to roll up our sleeves and make a tangible difference where our neighborhood meets the water. Every bottle collected, every scrap of litter removed, is a small but meaningful act of stewardship for the Elizabeth River and the Chesapeake Bay beyond.

Save the Bay Day is more than a cleanup—it’s a reminder that caring for our environment begins at home. Ghent’s tree-lined streets and historic charm are inseparable from the health of our shoreline, and by working together we demonstrate what community pride truly looks like. Join us as neighbors and friends as we help clean our waters, protect local wildlife, and ensure that Norfolk’s natural beauty continues to thrive for generations to come.
