Our Donation Drive for For Kids was a great success!

Thank You for Supporting Our ForKids School Supply Drive

The Ghent Neighborhood League is proud to share the success of our recent school supply drive benefiting ForKids, an organization that serves children and families experiencing homelessness throughout our community.

Thanks to the generosity of our members and neighbors, we collected four fully stocked backpacks along with several bags of school supplies that will help children begin the school year with confidence and the tools they need to succeed.

Anyone who has shopped for school supplies recently knows how quickly the cost adds up. Backpacks, notebooks, folders, pencils, calculators, markers, and other essentials can place a significant financial burden on families. For those experiencing homelessness or housing instability, these costs can be overwhelming.

That is why community support matters so much. Every donated backpack and every package of supplies sends an important message to a child: your community cares about you, and we want you to have every opportunity to succeed.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to this effort. Time and again, the Ghent Neighborhood League has demonstrated that it is more than a neighborhood organization—it is a community of caring people who step forward to help others whenever there is a need.

Thank you for making a difference in the lives of Norfolk's children. Together, we are helping ensure that more students can walk into their classrooms on the first day of school prepared, confident, and ready to learn.
