August’s Upcoming Neighborhood Meeting
Join Us for the August Ghent Neighborhood League Meeting
The Ghent Neighborhood League invites neighbors and friends to our August Neighborhood Meeting on Wednesday, August 19, at 6:00 PM at Fred Heutte Garden.
This month's meeting features two informative presentations that celebrate Ghent's rich history and vibrant community.
Architect Nat McCormick will present "Researching Your Historic Home," offering practical guidance on tracing your home's history. Whether you live in a century-old Victorian or are simply curious about the stories behind Ghent's beautiful architecture, you'll learn where to find historical records, photographs, maps, and other resources that can help uncover your home's past.
We'll also welcome Jeff Maisy of the Ghent Business Association, who will share updates on the Association's work and the many exciting things happening throughout Ghent's business district. It's a great opportunity to learn more about the partnerships and initiatives that help make our neighborhood a thriving place to live, work, and visit.
As always, we'll share League updates, upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and ways to get involved in the community. This is also a great chance to meet your neighbors, ask questions, and learn more about the projects and programs shaping Ghent's future.
We're also collecting donations for the Norfolk Street Choir Project. If you're able, please bring new scarves, gloves, winter hats, or travel-size toiletries such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, and combs. These essential items will be distributed to members of our community who need them most.
Whether you're a longtime resident or new to the neighborhood, we hope you'll join us for an evening of learning, community, and conversation. Everyone is welcome. We look forward to seeing you on August 19 at 6:00 PM at Fred Heutte Garden.
