The Chrysler Museum of Art

The Chrysler Museum of Art is one of Norfolk’s premier cultural institutions and is located at the head of the Hague on the edge of the Ghent Historic District. The current structure was started in 1933 as the Norfolk Museum of Arts and Sciences on land donated by the city and expanded many times over the years. It was named in honor of Walter Chrysler after he donated the majority of his private collection to the museum in 1971. The museum now features about 50 galleries, a collection of more than 30,000 objects, and a dynamic glass studio. Admission is free.
